Night Time Photos!

These are some night time photos that I just got done taking about a half hour ago. They aren't incredible (a hair out of focus) but they are pretty good for the time crunch I was under. Here you go:

I think the reason they're out of focus is that I dropped the camera several months ago. It was right before the Atlanta International Auto Show (the first time I saw the concept.) I was incredibly mad at myself for letting it slip from my fingers. This just means I have to buy a better camera now...Nikon D70S, here I come!

Very nice!! I like the metal flake and the colors chosen. Personally, I would've gone with blue underbodies just to go with the whole blue color of the car, but otherwise it looks great. Not feeling the spoiler or the rims, but that's just personal taste. Great job making a unique Camaro!

Re: Night Time Photos!

I thought about blue neon, but they're illegal in my state and there's no point having them if you can't use 'em. Green works with the colors chosen though. I catch some crap over the spoiler, but I expect it so I'm not offended by anyone who doesn't like it. It actually isn't so bad since the ground effects offset the "high balance" that the spoiler gives the car. I personally can't stand the spoiler if the car it's on doesn't have ground effects. Otherwise, it's not so bad. Thanks for the remarks though, I look forward to them.

Re: Night Time Photos!

Nah, I made the car this way because that's the way I wanted it. If I were to do it all again, I'd only trade the spoiler for an SS spoiler. Everything else would be exactly the same...I love the car even as it is now though.
For those of you who don't like this car though, I've always got a more "muscularly" modded Z-28 that you can look at. Please ignore the fact that it isn't repainted yet, that's around the corner. It will be painted the way it was in the first place, just with the new hood and spoiler under the orange stripes.
Why the mods I chose? The wheels; I first fell in love with the wheels when I saw them in a magazine 8 years ago...I told myself when I got a car, it would have those wheels on it. I got the money to buy them, and that's just what I did. The ground effects: I searched and searched for ground effects that I liked and non completely fit the bill. I like the front and back of the Wings West, but not sides. Somewhat like the sides of the Xenon kit, but not front and back. I didn't like the RKsport kits that much, and I absolutely despise the stock RS ground effects. When I was about to give up my search, I found the Vizages kit and knew that was the one I had to have...and so I bought them.
The paint: I always loved blue, especially the blue that was on the newer Chevys at the time. Indigo blue pearl was the color I wanted and that's what I went with. The metal flake was something I didn't even know I wanted until I saw the limo turned firetruck on monster garage. When it came around the corner and the sun gleamed down on all that flake like a wave in the ocean, I made up my mind right then that it was for me. Silver ground effects? I wanted to make 'em stand out, not blend in. The Vizages kit is a fairly uncommon one, so it deserves a little more attention.
There you go, I don't do these things to satisfy the wants of others, only my own desires. If other people happen to like my tastes, that's cool. If not, hey, you're allowed to be wrong. Just kidding, nobody has to like everything that everyone else likes, that would be boring.

Do the wheels look so bad now in this angle?

Re: Night Time Photos!

the LED kits, while offering the ability to change colors, are nowhere near as bright as an "old fashioned" neon kit. I've seen the color changing LED kits on several cars and if they aren't slammed right to the ground, you can barely see the illumination. The pictures I have show exaggerated color from the neon due to long exposure on the camera (anywhere from 8-10 seconds of open shutter) They are still brighter than LED kits, however. There's a guy on cardomain that has the color changing kit...but it would be kinda hard to find his page. I'll post it if I find it.

The paint scheme is awesome, I'm not a big fan of the spoiler or neons though.

Re: Night Time Photos!

I have to agree that ture neons are brighter then the LED's. However once you get the LED's turned in the correct angle they are a lot more noticable. Only reason I went with LEDs is that I live in WI and in the winter I know that the cold weather and a lil bit of snow would just snap the glass on the neons. So I really had no choice but to go with the LED's. I'm very happy with mine except the fact that I dont use them all to much do to the fact that they are illegal here in WI. I have only seen 1 or 2 other cars (one is my friends 3rd gen camaro) my whole life that had neon/LED's in my local area, so I'm one of the few, proud, and I guess brave (taking the chance of a ticket) haha.

Re: Night Time Photos!

I have noticed that in the winters in my area, which have the ability to get close to something resembling cold, my neon doesn't work so well. The light might make it across 3/4 of the tube on the sides and the back doesn't light up at all. I guess in that case, LED kits would be the way to go.

Now new and improved with black headlight openings...pictures to come one of these days. ^^^see, something for everyone^^^
