new weather striping instalation

Alright a lil bit of history as to why I'm doing this. Recently, probably for the past 2 or 3 months when it rains the floorboard area directly behind the driver seat becomes nothing but a big puddle. Nothing else has water spots on then and nothing else is even remotly wet it is totaly confined to that one lil section of the floor board dirctly behind the driver seat. And it only happenes when its really really raining hard with high winds I can take a water hose to the genreal area and nothing happens everything stays dry. So I'm gonna replace all the weather stripings, both doors and the hatchback. I'v never done it before and I want it to seal good and stay there perminatly I will annoy me if everytime I open the door the damn striping falls down. So any one got any tips or tricks to keep it in place and make it seal good. I did a search but nothing really came up.
