Yes I am happy with it. Its not like its a permanent mod and can be done differently for a low price. I thought I would go with red also since my front bowtie was already red. I didn't want everything to be mixed. I guess I'll keep the car garaged till December

I also have the silver CAMARO inserts on my 3.4 so I thought I would change it around. A picture of them are in my sig.

Thanks guys

Congrats on being different! I don't think I would have necessarily went with those colors, but that's not the thing bearing on my mind...What I want to know is, are you happy with it? If so, then good deal. Like Brent said, it looks like you did a very nice job of applying these.

looks like you did a real good job applying those, like others mentioned not a big fan of the combo, but it was done well, and after all, all that matters is that your happy with it.

good job!!!

I too am not a big fan of the color combo... but the decals look like good quality, and if you like it, that's what counts !

I like jg's smoked metallic inerts on his. I understand how you'd wanna do somethin different than w/ the 3.4 though.

My inserts are looking like that pontiac's- almost white.

Brent. I did the Camaro inserts over the weekend and plan on doing the Z28 overlays this weekend. You mentioned they were not very easy to install. Any tips????

Be very patient with it and take your time!

They're pretty sticky so if you mess up you can take it off and try it again. I had to do that a few times

But once you stick it to the emblem, doesnt it peel off the back part like most Oakley/camaro decals???

(In case that didnt make sense: the Z28 vinyl stickers have 2 sides: one you peel off to reveal the sticky side of the vinyl, but the vinyl still sticks to the other side so you can align it properly on the emblem in "one-fell-swoop" rather than putting each piece on individually (since the Z28 has those horizontal lines thru it that do not get 'decalled'). So after the first side has been peeled off to reveal the sticky side, you'd think that if you pressed it on the emblem, it would then peel off the other "aligning" side...)
Thoughts/suggestions???

Trim the backing and application tape CLOSE to the vinyl itself in a few areas on the edges and top. This will allow you to see where you are placing the decal. Other than that, just be sure to follow these instructions...

Good luck!

I completely wetted the area with a mix of water and dish soap after using a precleaner to remove the wax. I had done my kid's Mustang GT a few days before so I had practice.

One thing I did on mine that I didn't do on the kids was used a hair dryer. Taking an old hair dryer (didn't want to use my wife's good one. ) I heated the area and was able to smooth out the stickers evenly and remove any creases or bubbles. Before doing this I thought the install looked kind of crappy and I was ready to rip them off the car. After doing the hair dryer trick it looked awesome! (The pictures honestly don't do it justice.)

I'm now thinking of silver overlays for the Z/28 emblems if I can't find some billet or chrome versions. (Still debating new rims but now leaning towards 10-spokes since just about everyone and their brother has Z06's or TT-II's.)

BTW - I puchased the inlays from http://www.stripeman.com cheap, many colors, good quality.
