i have a black 95 Z28 with a white top. i just recently bought the car and the top leaks. i am planning on buying a new top for the spring. i dont want white. what other colors are out there that i could get? i was thinking black on black. does anyone else have a black convertible and if so what color is you top? i got quoted for 900$ for a new top. is that a good price?

 

My vote would be for black on black like you were saying. From what I've heard $900 is a reasonable price for the top--but I don't recall if that was $900 for the top and installation, or just the top.

 

You could go the Ludacris route and get one of those Gucci tops, but if not, I would say black.

 

Do a WEB search for "convertible tops". There are several manufacturers. Most white tops are vinyl, while the black and tan are fabric. Fabric is better. I think you'll find that $900 is a bit high.

 

When you go from white to black, you have to either get the rear window replaced (the trim is white...) or you have to have a creative installer that can work with your window to patch the black trim onto it. The $900 is a good price for changing the top and the window, but $750 is a better price for just changing the top. $600 is a good price for replacing a white vinyl top.

 

I am in Australia and a friend of mine is looking for some weatherstrips for his convertible. His top is made by American Sunroof Co. Could anyone direct me to where he could buy weatherstips for his car. It is a 89RS Camaro. Any help please. Thanks.
