New 4th Gen Body Kit

Alright guy's, good and bad news.

I'm currently talking to a company about making a new body kit for camaro (giving us more options other than xenon and wings west, which, I might add, not all of us are fans of).

I was browsing through a website when I saw some domestic body kits (Mustangs and Cavaliers). I immediately thought, "wow, new company, maybe a new looking kit." They didn't have sh*t! :>

What did I do?

Well, in quest for a different body kit, something not as common and rather unique, I called them, offering to use my car as a prototype as long as they would sponsor me (hook me up with crazy sh*t, in other words).

They Agreed.

Here's where the bad news comes in. The company is an IMPORT BODY STYLING COMPANY! Many of you are thinking, "Ok, f this."

NO! Please, don't be so quick to leave just because the word "import" is mentioned.

Now for the good news.

1) We will be making body kits according to dominance of opinion, i.e. what the general fbody community wants in a body kit. (Be vey specfic and detailed with your replies)

2) They will be sufficiently priced and, again, made for camaro's by people who own camaro's, you.

This sounds promising guys, I think we should give it a try. The kit would probably even run a little less than what xenon and wings west sells theirs for.

Give me all your feedback, thanks.

There are way more camaro ground effects kits than those two listed. You just have to know where to look. I've never felt that there was a void in the amount of ground effects kits available.

Designing another kit, IMO would not be worth the time and money spent on R&D.

Hey man that's pretty cool.

I am also getting sponsored with a all new 4th gen bodykit. And this company also primarily does custom import bodykits. Don't worry about it, just help them with the design so it isn't ricey.

Congrats !

How abouting getting them to make a nice CME Fascia that isn't ugly... I would offer more info, but I own a 94, and you own a 2000, so I doubt the kits would be the same (able to fit).

Definetly, more options=better

The market is swamped with a lot of WW kits and most of the camaro's i see around here all support the WW on their cars...

Very cool! The more choices the better as everyone has mentioned.

While it is OK to get an idea of what people want and like using this forum, you can't "collect orders" for this company you are working with unless they become a paying advertiser. Just a little heads up Thanks!

Oh yeah, and I do a lot of searches for ground effects/body kits, but I can't find much more being produced than the Xenon and WW kits. Help us out.

I agree. We need some kits out there for these cars. See if they maybe want to get in on these. I think there would be a lot of support for this sort of kit.

What I would like is something simple and classy.

For the Front fascia. It would need to not lower the front more the 1" and the very tip. Maybe even a two piece front like the Xenon, but with a little more space in the middle. Kind of a cross between the the stock kit and the Xenon. I would want it to sculpt into the body like the Xenon, but maybe have a little ridge like the WW and end up being flat near the wheel well and not stick way the heck out on the sides like the Xenon.

For the side skirts, I like the squareness of the WW kit, but I would want it about 1/2" higher for ground clearance. Basically a little more rounded on the edges but still flush and following the natural curve of the door.

For the rear, I would want basically little winglets that follow the natural curves of the car that can be blended in like the front. Basically just a ground effect from the wheel well to where the bumber begins to curve and then just a little further. Maybe with a little angle away from the body as you get lower on the very rear of the bumper. And then another piece that could be placed on the inside of the exhaust and blended so it will be custom tailored to the tips that you personally have.

I might draw a picture tomorrow and post it up.
