Never seen this hood before

Check out the hood on this Camaro I found for sale

It's a 2000 Z28 with a '96-'97 SS hood scoop on, well, a '98+ style hood. It actually looks really cool to me!

Just because somebody will ask, here's the rear of the car:

This emblem on the back confuses me:

I don't think the dealership has this listed right lol.

Camaro Z28
It's a 3.8 V6.....u can tell because of the "K" in the VIN.
Nevermind...it's just a very rare V6 Z28 SS

I'm impressed! You can decode VINs by memory. That's something I can't do. I didn't think of that.

All the VIN tells you is what was under the hood when it rolled out of the factory.

There are a bunch of mods... how do you know there's not an LS1 under the hood?

(not that it isn't a reasonable guess, given the atrocity of the visual mods)

I think his point was clear , 8th digit = engine. Why this topic hasn't had an on-topic reply yet is beyond me though.

I can't imagine a cop not pulling you over for having those taillight covers

OK, I'm going to show my ignorance now, how is that scoop different from 98+?

The scoop is a little more pronounced , meaning it sticks up a little more. On the 98+ hoods the lines seem to "flow" a little better and the leading edges of the scoop extend down to the front of the hood. A little more subtle a matter of taste.

I actually have a 98+ ss hood for a 93-97. Meaning its the complete opposite of the pic posted. I am in the process of finding someone to paint it.

That's going to look really nice man. Get a 35th Anniversary black decal to go in that scoop area, it'll look GORGEOUS.

Suncoast Creations makes the hood posted in the original post. When I told people I changed back to the LT1 front end because I liked the SS Hood better, about a thousand people let me know that they made a clone for the LS1 front end.

Here's another picture:
