Whats up guys. I live in Chicago and am looking for someone in the area (great lakes region) who has some experience doing the t-top conversion. I have a 95 firebird and all of the necessary parts to do the conversion. If anyone knows of someone around here who would be interested in doing the conversion and has the experience, please let me know. Every bodyshop I have contacted wont even consider taking the project.

 

Are you not able to do it yourself? I haven't done it before, but I plan on doing mine on my own in the next few months. Basically, I have all the parts, and I'm just waiting for the money for a rollbar, new carpet, and spray-on sound deadener, because I want to do it all at once, since I don't want to rip out my interior now for the t-tops, then again a few months later for the rollbar and carpet...

Best of luck to you, but it's either this or another member whose gonna end up doing this, because I've been in your situation before, only a different part. My Camaro was an automatic, and I wanted it converted to a manual, but NO SHOP would take on such a project. They said it was either too time consuming, or they just flat out said they wouldn't do it. The only way it ended up getting done was I printed off the step-by-step instructions from the internet, and I did it myself with the help of a friend. We managed to do it in a couple weekends...

 

I'm pretty sure he was asking if a member of the board in his area would help him out, maybe somebody who has done it before.

 

Yea I need someone who has done it before or who knows of a bodyshop who will take on the project. Like I said I have all of the parts for the conversion, just need someone to do the labor. Obviously I would pay whoever did it.
