need help with paint

I am working on my 3rd gen getting it reay for paint... well i took most of the car down to bare metal. Both fenders, hood and the doors are not touched yet but they are off the car. Should i take them to bare metal or can i just wet sand them and shoot primer and it look ok?

it kinda depends on what kind of shape the paint is, if the clear is peeling badly or has a lot of chips then yea you might as well take it down to bare metal but if the paint is in decent shape you should be able to wetsand then primer
