Unhappy Need help in finding dash piece.

I'm looking for the dash piece on a 1995 Z28 convertible. It is the piece that sits under the wind shield that houses the defroster vent that aims up at the front wind shield. The people who owned the car before me damaged the vent and the vent is cracked and has signs of wear and tear. I have been looking for a replacement but I cannot find one. Could anyone help me out here?

Thanks,

Chris

You'd probably be better off trying to find one at a junk yard or at one of the various f-body salvage places. GM will probably charge you an arm and a leg for the part. Mine is also cracked from the previous owner. I'll look into getting a new dash peice soon, but in kind of low on funds at the moment.

I got one from Jason Cromer.

It was $100 with shipping. Not cheap, but at least I didn't have to worry about getting a damaged one from someone I didn't know...

BTW, the local dealer wanted $175

Well, I'm sure Jason Cromer didn't design it, make a mold and manufacture it. He probably just ripped it out of a totaled car that was 5 years old. The reason those things crack anyway is because the sun wears them and they get brittle, for $75 more, you would be better off getting it new.

Yeah a salvage yard would be the way to go, but he only asked for the number and not where to get it. I think www.fparts.us f-parts salvage will get you one for 20 bucks plus shipping. Its located in bristol PA they also usaully have them on ebay starting at 15 bucks i beileive.
