Need Help With Big Hood On 97 Camaro

I am in need of a hood for my 97 SS. I swapped in a SBC with a Super Victor and a Dominator and sold the LT1. I have the SS hood on the car, but it won't clear the carb.

I really don't like the look of most cowl hoods, but I need to get my hands on something. Any help and or pictures would be great.

Thanks,
Nick D

What about a Harwood?

One Kind

Another kind

I don't know if they have more clearence, but I would think that they would, and look very nice vs. other cowls IMO

that is the only good looking cowl hood in my opinion. I hate the cowl hood that is really squared looking. JW are you going to sell the SS hood?

My thoughts exactly, squared doesn't fit the 4th gen IMO

But it is on the 3rd gens

You seen what Dave at ARE did. Follow suit

This is a reason I didn't just buy a 750 or 1050 Dominator also...The spacer to adapt to a 4150 Vortec style intake is wicked tall plus the NX plate....I'd need a SawZall or a new hood... Sounds bad tho

I saw what Dave did, that SS hood is a custom piece. Its two inches taller through the cowl and its only a skin as oposed ta bolt on hood.

Those two Harwood cowls loo nicer than a standard cowl, but I don't know that they offer any more clearance than my SS hood.

I still have a pending hook-up on a hood, but I really want to get this deal going soon.

Also too my hood is going to be for sale and yes it is the real McCoy from SLP.
