Need Help With 17x11 Fitting!!!
Just completed a test fit with my new 17x11 Torque Thrust II’s and 315 35 17 555R’s. I have 5/8 of an inch from inside tire to body on the passenger side and 1 1/4 inch on the drivers side. The TT2s have 8 inch backspacing, I have stock rear suspension, and I have modifided the bumpstops and beat in the wheel wells.
My next step is to get an adjustable panhard rod and center the axle. The adjustable panhard rod I am looking at is the Hotchkis 1501 it has Polyurethane/Graphite bushings.
Will that give me enough room for suspension movement?
How much will the axle shift when cornering hard?
Thanks Kris

Did you jack up the rear end or put it on a lift? I had problems getting my 18's on because the bump stop was in the way, but if you just jack up the rear end with a floor jack it should fit right on there. If not then you might have to cut the bump stop off.
xxsaint69x my 17x11 TT2s have 1/4 inch more backspacing than the standard f-body BS ( 8 vs 7 3/4 ) I figured it would be easier to move out with spacers if I needed to.
SunCoastTA I did modify the bump stops already measurements where done with wheels bolted on and vehicle not supported.
If I center my axle I will have almost an inch on either side with current mods.
Would that be enough clearance?
Would replacing the existing rubber bushings on the LCA to poly be the answer (I did order the adj. panhard rod)? Or should I get wheel spacers?
Just worried about damaging my new investment.
Thanks for your replies.

An inch on either side when sitting at ride height should be plenty. Make sure you align the rear to what it will be when the suspension is loaded and at ride height. Do this and drive around on it for a while. If you hear any scrubbing , or the inside of the tires have scuff marks on them when you remove them in a few days run some 1/4" spacers. You won't damage your rims normally, just the tires. Honeslty you have close to the same backspacing that comes on the 11" ZR1's, so you shouldn't have a problem. Just don't go driving around for more than a week without taking off the wheels to inspect the tires.
RallyRedTexan I believe I am only about 1/16" further in than the 11” ZR1s that is why I opted for the 8” BS vs 7 3/4” American Racing said they could only be moved a min of 1/4" either way. I would rather put in 1/16” spacers than roll the fender lip.
Thanks
Kris
Thanks

That's if you can find a 1/16" spacer
, the smallest I've seen is a 1/8"
. I think it will work without them. Glad you went with a little more backspacing though, the 11" TTII's have always looked just a little too wide in the rear for me.

I didn't even think to look to see if 1/16" spacers would be available
one 1/8" will probably work though if I have to go that route. Just waiting for my panhard rod to show up then I can try it on the street.
