My camaro had rusted through the metal and im currently fixing it, i took a couple pics, but I cant paint it till thursday. I will update the page as i finish the project...

This is pretty much my first repair to this extent... Im doing all my work in school at our shop. Me and my friend mario (we are both 17) have done all the work. Im thinking about making a full tutorial when im done, but not sure yet.

Looks pretty good so far.What caused it to rust so bad?

 

Some how the insulation foam that is in there got corroded and was storing water in there, slowly rusting that area pretty bad. Ive replaced it with some waterproof foam. I will be painting my base coat and clear coat on thursday, with some color sanding possibly friday or next week

Looks like you did a pretty good job there. I really enjoy doing body work like that. Hopefully the rust won't come back, but in cases like that it's really hard to stop. You should have applied a liberal coating of POR 15 to the affected areas, then primed. Anyway, don't forget to put of new pics when you're done.

 

What is POR 15? I did put osphorus(sp) on it, or something like that. My teacher said it should help stop the rust, hopefully that will work.
