Re: LT1 Front ends

LT1's generally run a little hotter than most people are used to, but to answer your question, niether the LS1 or LT1 take air from the grille area to cool the engine. The air is taken from under the bumper, check to make sure the air dam is still on your car, it's a black plastic piece similar to a spoiler under the front bumper that creates a high pressure area in front of the radiator and a low pressure area behind the radiator and your car will overheat without it.

Re: LT1 Front ends

My car runs between 165 and 170 degrees, even on the hottest desert day, idling in traffic doesn't even phase it now.

Thanks to Ion for my new MadZ28 tune, and my 160 thermostat. No more getting nervous watching the temp needle edge it's way to redline.

Re: LT1 Front ends

than you have an air pocket if it moves all over the place really quick like. wait till it warms up than open up the bleeder screws to relieve the air.
