LT1 Formula guys in here

Checking out this 96 WS6 But I notice it has a rear trans am spoiler and rear Ls1 exhaust...Person is the original owner and says that was the way it came. Is this true?

Exhaust is normal, it's what came on my car too, as for the hatch/spolier... looks to me like it was swapped, mine has the lower wing.

look for the ws6 code on the car, that will tell you if its a real ws6 i thought ws6 formulas were ws9's though..but i ain't too smart about it.

Re: LT1 Formula guys in here

WS6 Firebirds are WS6 as far as i know?
Firebirds/Formulas did not come with the highrise wing. (however Trans Ams did come with the low wing in the early years)
I didnt that exahuast is not original on LT1s either....I guess the WS6's was like that.

Re: LT1 Formula guys in here

I was told at a local firebird club meeting that my car most liekly started life as a Formula. The reason is because a well trained eye, which I wasn't when I bought the car, said I have the lower spoiler, and no leather interior - which he said wasn't possible for a 96 Trans Am.

I love the car no less

Re: LT1 Formula guys in here

A WS6 is a WS6 whether it's a Formula or T/A from '96 - '00 when the WS6 was no longer offered on the Formulas.

The Wing looks like a modification though. No Formula ever came with the hi-rise wing, although some T/As had the lower spoilers.

The Exhaust is stock, I have the stock tips sitting on the wall in my garage from my car, and they look identical.

Re: LT1 Formula guys in here

The WS9 and WS6 are two completely different things. WS9 is the rpo code for the model conversion of your car to a Formula. WS6 is the rpo code for the performance package that was an option for your car.

OK I ADMIT IT I WAS TOTALLY WRONG WITH MY ABOVE POST...
