Ls1 Ss Front Tag Bracket On Lt1?

Just curious if any of you LT1 Camaro guys have the SLP SS tag bracket on your cars. I am having my front bumper repainted and don't want to put the ugly factory plate bracket back on the car. 1, it's ugly, 2, it rubs the paint off, 3 , I wanna be a lil different. I'd like to get rid of the front plate altogether but I tried that once and a State Po had me on the side of the road lickity split. I don't want to give em a reason to look the rest of the car over.

no reason why it won't work, you need to drill the holes anyway

Yeah, SLP lists it to fit 93-02. Any of you guys got it on your LT1 cars?

I'd like to see pics of one on a '93-'97 as well. I've never even seen it on a '98-'02. The factory one isn't very great, it rubs the paint off the nose.

I think I found some pics of it on a 93-97 body. I really don't know what to say though. I really, REALLY, hope he didn't install it correctly. It just doesn't look right to me.

I had to do some retarded searching to find those too.

edit: I think that was factory installed. Yikes! I might have to try to mount it a little different...

YIKES, at least I now know why the '97 Z28 in Gran Turismo 3 and 4 has the front plate mounted so strangely. Believe me, if it looks as goofy in real life as it looks in the game, you might want to skip that idea!

Here is a REALLY crappy pic, but its all I had. While I no longer have the front plate mounted, it gives you an idea of how it sat when it was. This was when I first bought the car.

I may be wrong, but I think your car had the GM (stock) plate holder. Your pic isn't very clear, but it looks like the one on my car, which isn't the SLP one.

Here's my final answer to this. I think I'll make my own. I was gonna save myself the trouble and just buy it but SLP wants me to spend a minimum of $25 b4 they'll bother processing the order and this is all I need.
