LS1 Front End Conversion Opinions Please
LS1 Front End Conversion Opinions Please
Hey Guys,
I did a search but couldn't find the answer I wanted to my question. I wanted to know what you guys thought of doing the LS1 conversion on my 97 T/A. If you walked up to a LT1 T/A with a LS1 front what would you think of the car? Also do you have to modify the air intake?

Re: LS1 Front End Conversion Opinions Please
I really like the LT1 TA....I actually think it is my favourite 4th gen.....LT1 trans ams and LS1 Formulas. The LS! trans am looks really big and bulky unless its slammed with big wheels.....just my opinion though....alot of people will disagree
Re: LS1 Front End Conversion Opinions Please
I'm really into F-body cars, and to tell you the truth, it's pretty hard to tell what motor is in a car if you trade it out or change the looks of the car. So, if you did the switch on the front end most guys would probably just think you have an LS1 car.
I personally prefer the LS1 front end, but I wouldn't trade it out if I had an LT1 equipped car.

Re: LS1 Front End Conversion Opinions Please
i dont think you have to modify the air intake, since the engine components are the same. as for the front end conversion. to do it all correctly you redo everything up to the doors. you might be able to just do the bumper if it will mesh with the front fenders, but im not sure. as for looks, i prefer the ls1 look myself. i had a lt1 once, but i think the ws6 ls1 looks better and alot more agressive. and as craddock said, most people would think it was a ls1 until you popped the hood, or they saw your taillights (unless you change those too). those are the only differences: front fascia, taillights, and the center section b/t them is different
