Question LS1 Computer Cover?

I know I saw a custom LS1 Computer Cover somewhere. I thought it looked great.

Anyone know where I might have seen this?

Thanks.

Anyone else?

I thought I saw it too... it was a stainless steel or aluminum cover. Some guy was making like 6 of them or something, right? I don't remember. I tried to find the topic here but no luck. ARRGGHHH!!!

I think the one I saw had a sort of heat-sink look to it.

Maybe I am just nuts.

Strangle enough, I just tried to build one. It cost me $4 for the metal from Home Depot. not quite as nice as the $65 part, but oh well. Here is a link to what I have so far.

Basically I messed around till I found something that woudl work, then made a basic pattern on the metal. Cut and bent. I originally tried to weld the left corner, but my cheap welder just burnt holes, so for the final one I just used the quick steel putty. I just added a picture of the pattern that I drew on the metal. I could make a basic pattern with sizes. http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/the...m=P1180019.jpg
I used a high speed cutting disc to cut it out and the the edge of the work bench to bend. With better equipment, better bend and cuts could be made.
Hopefully in the morning I can get the final color painted and get it installed. Will post pics when complete.
When I am done I will see about a walkthrough.

OK, I got the cover painted and installe. It looks pretty good. I have added a couple pics to the previous link. Check them out. There might be a little treaking needed, but it looks good so far. Deffinitly better then seeing the PCM connectors.

No, it's zinc coated, 26 gauge steel. It was just under $4 at home depot. It was what I could get ahold of at the time.

I know the one you are talking about but not who did it. I think he had just made the one for his car and was not planning on making more. But I could be wrong.
