Lowering Questions?
I have a 99 3.8L Camaro. I just got 18" wheels and 245/40/18 tires put on. I want to lower my car 1.5 to 2 inches in the back and 1 to 1.5 inches in the front. Will there be any problems if i do this?(rubbing, etc.)? What all will i need to do this? Which springs and other parts are the best value?
the offspacing shouldnt matter too much...i dont think you will have a problem. the stock 16x8's dont even come close to rubbing when lowered, and 245-40-18 is the same diameter as 245-50-16. unless you have a reverse offset of like 50mm, then you might have a problem.
Your offset would have to be WAY off for 245's to rub. An 8.5" 38mm won't rub. I have 275's with Eibach Sportlines (they're for sale, I just added coilovers) on 17 x 9.5 46mm offset and I have no problems.
PS, nice wheels Chucky!!!
Side note: I just ordered a set of 17 x 9.5 38mm offset ZR-1's for the front for autocross, it should take those out about .5" more than my existing Borbet 46mm wheels which is exactly what it needed anyway. I always wondered why people didn't just make 17 x 10's with the proper offset instead of the 9.5's??

Shocks are your Friend! I'd recommend getting some performace shocks when you lower your car.
