My friend has the UltraZ hood and loves it. He says the fitment was perfect right out of the box. Personally, for me, when I get to that point, I will most likely go with the Harwood Ram Air hood.

Suncoast Creations:
pros : nice design style, good quality construction.

cons: crappy intake plumbing, poorly conceived seal for the airbox.

The cowl hoods look good on LT1 cars.Personally i've never really been a fan of the ultra-Z hood.Looks kind of like it's missing something...I'm not quite sure,i cant quite figure it out.

sbca96..i see your neghbours have a 3rd gen and a 2nd gen.Sweet...and well that pacer is still a pacer.(do i see aftermarket rims on it?)

personally im not a fan of either of those hoods, i think a nice 4 inch cowl hood by glasstek or the ss hood are the only ones that look right on our cars, http://thunderracing.com/catalog/?ac...vid=4&pcid=123
but this is just my opinion and do whatever you think looks best

I like my VFN 2.5" cowl-induction hood. It's a design blending features found on both the '69 Camaro RS/SS (if I remember correctly) and the stock fourth gen Camaro...

Actually, its not an "Ultra-Z", its a "Z-style". The Ultra-Z I agree is missing
something, its got the ONE big hole in the middle. I believe SLP made them.
The Z-style hood has the two holes, which match the headlight openings. I
think that the cowl hoods look totally wrong on a 4th gen. The style is more
fitting for a older muscle car - just my opinion.

Actually, thats MY house, the 3rd gen is my wifes, its for sale. The 2nd gen
is getting the engine and trans from the 94 Firebird in front of it. It already
has a set of Blistein shocks, Hotchkis springs, and an Impala SS sway bar. To
the side of it is my 95 Impala SS clone (ex CHP car). Thats not a Pacer, its a
1963 Studebaker Avanti. Those are 17 inch Mustang Cobra wheels, and I just
finished designing brackets on CAD to install the '03 Cobra 13" dual piston PBR
calipers on it. In the back is the factory Dana 44 with 98 GT disc brakes. It
gets a LOT of attention wherever I go. No one believes that its 43 years old.
Personally I dont see where you got "Pacer" from, but I guess its small in that
picture. The Pacer has a considerably larger greenhouse, and didnt hold the
record for fastest production car for about 5 years.

SMALLEST....COWL....EVER....

It looks much smaller than my 2.5 inch cowl, even though you say that's how tall yours is.

Oh yeah, it's an American Sports Car Design hood.

The only hood i'd have on my car besides an SS would probably be the Sunoco Cowl hood. There are some working pictures on the last page and one of i it on an LT1. http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showth...ight=cowl+hood

For an LT1 I say Harwood Cowl hands down:

Cool! Yea in the first picture, with the car looking so tiny I just got the pacer sort of look from it.I dont see them around at all so seeing your studebaker and not knowing what it was i assumed it was one. There is a similar Studebaker that comes out to the cruise nights around my area,it's kind of a gumby green colour. I've been out cruising with a buddy in his chevelle and the guy in the Avanti crossed paths with us...He opened it up..WOW it was impressive thats for sure,we talked to the guy and found out it was stock. So i can only imagine a modded one goes even better. From the sounds of yours, your ready to attack some pylon filled parkinglots and any twisty roads you come across

What year second gen is that? I own a 70 Camaro,84 Z28 and my Dad has a 71 Trans am. I guess F-body's run in the family.Much like yours..thats wicked!

Awesome Driveway of cars! Someday i hope to have a stable of muscle similar to that.
