Loctite on shift ****

My stock shift **** was really loose, so me being a smart ***, put a loctite in the **** and installed it back. Now, my shift **** spins but, it doesn't pop out. Is there a way to really tighten the living **** out of it so it don't spin again?

I ran into this problem also when I had my M6 Z28. The leather covering is actually broken loose from the plastic shifter ball. That leather covering is what's spinning, not the shifter ball itself.

Hope this helps--I know it drove me crazy for a while. I finally ordered a new part from the dealership.

Good question. I'd go ahead and have the new one ready to install, then use a big pair of channel-locks or something like that to get the old **** off. With enough pressure, it's gonna either come off or break--either way, shouldn't matter if you have the new **** ready to go.

I got mine from the local Chevrolet dealership. This was back in 2004, and I think they had to order it at the time.
