I don't really hang out in the appearance section too much, but I figure you appearance gurus will know the answer. I want a hood that is very lightweight, but retains the original look of a 93-97 Z28 and can be painted easily. I have the 30th package, and will have to have it painted white so I can put my new stripes back on. I have searched for over a year off and on and never found anything but a carbon fiber rip off hood. Once again, IT MUST LOOK TOTALLY STOCK. I figure I can't find it because it doesn't exist. I mean, why would GM or anybody else fabricate a hood without a ridiculusly big cowl or some huge scoop that will sell thousands because of the look? Please help

There are carbon fiber hoods available from japan too, but the pin-on hoods are the lightest I think..

 

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know what the stock hood weighs?
