Post Let me know what u think

Hey guys, i bought a new CAI from a local F-body owner, but had to go to Home Depot to modify it to fit my car. Had to buy some PVC pipe to connect it to my intake elbow and also had to cut some of the pieces to fit. In all i spent alittle over $100, and that's because i splurged! You can make pretty much the same CAI for way, way less.

Let me know what you guys think?

I should have some more pics up this weekend, of my painted badges and hopefully my hyperwhites!!

I like it!
I don't see how you spent over $100 bucks on it though. Isn't a new CAI from K&N around $100'ish?

My only "pet-peeve" is that you alternate black and chrome. I would have chose to stick with one color. Other then that, very cool.

Yea, i was thinking that also, what actually happened was that i bought the unit new and thought it would fit my car exactly......but come to realize it was for a car with an MAF, well my car doesn't have one so i had to buy that little extender piece.
I was going to paint the PVC silver/chrome, but thought it would hide more scratches by just painting it black.

I know it's not the prettiest, but i like it. I actually felt the difference in the way the car felt. Thanks!

Where did you get those rubber connectors? I've been searching Home Depot forever to find something like that to use to merge my CAI with my maf instead of the poor factory one that you have to use with the SLP unit.

They're in the plumbing aisle, right where you find the PVC, just ask the ppl that work there. Those were for me, right above the pipes.

Hey nice work. Looks like you saved a lot of money because the K&N one is $200 at Summit Racing. Thats what I have and I like it a lot.

Great job.. I like it alot. I think it would look even better if it was all chrome.

Is it 3" or 4" ? ?

LimitedEd1LE/pu12en12g ~ thanks!

It's 3"........I was thinking of going up to 4", but then i'll have to get another piece of bent tubing. Like i mentioned before, i bought it thinking it would just pop in, but i had to buy the PVC to extend it.
