Re: Led lights

You need an electronic flasher unit which is load independent to run LEDs in those spots. The factory unit is a thermal unit, and won't work properly with LEDs.

The only issue with the tail/brake lights, are the ones available are no wheres near as bright as the factory ones.

Re: Led lights

You can use LED bulbs as long as you splice in some resistors on the wires that bring power to the bulbs. Just test the standard bulb's resistance and go to Radio Shack and buy that resistor, usually just a few hundred ohms does it.

But like mentioned above, the LED bulbs will not fill out the whole lense with light like a regular bulb does because LED's tend to have focused lighting. If you get them for the front, it won't matter too much because it's a relatively small lense to light up which is pretty much focused forward anyway. But in the rear, you'll end up with a red lense and a red circle in the middle lighting up the same diamter as the bulb and not much else.

There are newer bulbs that have more LED's light up the sides as well as the front but I have not used these so I don't know how those would look.

Re: Led lights

superbrightleds.com sells plug in bulb replacements. That's who I'm gonna go with as soon as I get time to get to it.
