You need 10. I'm thinking about doing the same. Either Blue, Green, Or red. Haven't decided yet.

you'll need 7 for 93-97 and 5 for 98-02
you can get 10 bulbs and have 3 spear or put them into the glove compt. ot an ashtray but you'll need only 7 for the gauges anyways

Be careful which ones you buy, there are the 1-point and 4-point designs. I have the 4-point ones and am a little unhappy with them. They only shine light straight ahead and not all around, so on a 97 or older 4th gen you wont get very good light distribution around the gauges. BTW I am using the MacEwen white overlays as well, which may add to the problem (shining through two layers of lexan instead of just one).

I have a pic of the setup at night, however it looks MUCH nicer than in real life, the camera uses a long exposure time at night and gathers up a lot of light, making the picture look brighter and better than the real thing. If anyone wants a copy of the pics, give a holler.

I've hear the 1-point bulbs do a better job of dispersing the light. They have an inverted clear cone on the end of the led wich helps light up a wider area.

Just my 2 cents..

Recollection tells me that a single 194 bulb is used to illuminate the hvac controls but dont quote me on that. I couldn't find the bulb on the headlight switch panel. seems like it was buried deep in there.
Sorry this post was not much use, but maybe it will spark some conversation
