Leather Shifter Nob Question
Leather Shifter *** Question
I have a 96 SS with the leather covered shifter ***... I don't know if it supposed to do this or not, but the leather cover is loose and spins on the ***... if it's not supposed to do that, how can I fix it?
if its just the round ball i think its supposed to do that becuase i have the same kind and the three other 6 speed camaros i have driven have all been loose where you can rotate the ball maybe to make it easier while shifter to have a little give on the ball

Re: huh
No Prob, Bro!
They really aren't supposed to do that. I think the glue ends up losing it's stickiness and ends up letting the cover just spins.
I may be wrong, but that's one of the reasons everyone switches to an after market ****...
...like me!
You might be able to figure a way to reglue it, or take it to an upholstery shop. I'm sure they could do it...

How did you guys that have an aftermarket **** on an aftermarket shifter get it to stay in place?
I've got a B&M Ripper and and B&M short leather ****.
It doesn't screw in - it just has 3 set screws that hold it in place.........they come loose a couple of time a year, so I have to carry around an allen key to tighten them up all the time.
What did you do with yours?

I would suggest using some lock-tite. I would use the blue thread locker for that particular application. I actually used it on the Pro 5.0 handle cause those screws kept backing out on me. Not since the thread locker though...

I like the tall over the short. The short one was too small for my hands. The best thing about the tall **** is it fits like a pistol grip. It has finger grooves and a thumb groove. Gives a very positive feel to the awesome Pro 5.0!
Not to mention it perfectly matches the graphite interior...
