Leather Repair Kits???

Would you all buy one? The local shop quoted me 180 for the below problems to be fixed. GM Parts Direct quoted me 206 for the top cover. Would you all give a repair kit, matched to the color of the interior for around 50, a try?

I wouldn't have a lot of faith in a repair kit working very well. It might repair an area on a flat surface like a seat back that got sliced by a knife or something but if you are talking about the side bolster, I doubt it would work very good there. That is a "high traffic" area with the buttocks and I just think it would fail quickly Butt, I could be wrong

Thanks Brent for the advice. I am kind of skeptical also, especially w/ them being able to match the color of the interior. I am thinking of just waiting it out and seeing if I run across a cover for sale. I believe I can install it looking at your excellent writeup. I don't want the repair to look like someone took tan fingernail polish to it either.
