Killing relays with Hella DLs
Killing relays with Hella DLs
I installed a pair of Hella FF75 driving lights where the stock fogs are.
I kept the wiring for the existing fog lights, tapping the power line to those into the relay "on" wire for the Hella relay. The power line from the relay is directly connected to the + junction box underhood by the battery.
I've already killed the stock Hella relay, and now just did in another Radio Shack relay. The relay prong where the power from the + junction gets corroded, and won't allow the lights to turn on.
The lights work great when the relay is working and don't seem to adversely affect the voltage, so it seems to be running correctly.
Does anyone know why this would be happening? The Hella relay had a fuse built-in, and it never did blow.
Thanks in advance.
