Interior Switch Question

I am going to be installing an Electric cutout soon. Not sure which one yet. I have an empty space next to my driving light swith above the radio. I would like to put the switch there.

Has anybody done this?, I think the switch will have to be a three way that centers itself .

Does GM make this type of switch for that location?

Thanks.

Buddy of mine has a cut out and placed the switch down in the floor of the removable ash tray in the center console. He flips the conver open, and hits a 3-position rocker with a green activation light.

If you already have fog lights, and the Traction control, if you remove the "CAMARO" plate, you will that there are TWO MORE switch holes. I'd just buy a fog light switch and make it look factory. (sand the fog light emblem off though)

Thanks Bliggida,
I do not have traction control and have a blank space for the switch. I would like it to look stock but a foglight switch will not work, I need a switch like a window switch, that goes two ways and rests in the center

Yes, If the convertible switch will go in that location it will work. I think I will go to the dealer tomorrow, they usually look at me with a confused look on their face when I ask them about a normal part. This will really confuse them.

Ok, I just picked up the car from getting new tires put on. And rolled down the window. Then I looked at the window switch, then at the switch for my foglights. Same looking switch, So I think I will get a window switch and make it work in that location.
Anybody try this? think it will work?

thanks

just a heads up
for the electric cut out you'll need DPDT switch which has 6 prongs
the one for the fog lights is only SPST - only on-off which means it will only be a waist of money. I'm not sure about the convertable roof switch.

That is true, but if you still want to do it you can. Just that you have to install yet another switch (small toggle etc) to cut power to that switch after it goes one way or the other. Then it acts like a 3-way switch, but yes, sorry that is really what you need.

My vote would be a 3-way lighted rocker.

Thanks guys, I would not use a foglight switch.
I would use a switch like one that would roll the windows up and down. this would be neutral when not being touched then open one way, and close the other. I can adapt this switch to go into the location in the dash next to the foglight switch, Then my BE LOUD NOW! looks stock.
