Interior lights

hey, I was wondering something. I know a few poeple have put neons inside of there car but I wanna do it so it looks really bad a$$. I was surfing the net a couple of weeks ago and found these pictures:

http://community.webshots.com/photo/...37891400HQfkmw

Theres also one more picture which u can find in that person pictures. Are these neons or LEDs? If so is there a page where someone already has a setup and shows the place ment of them?

I tried a search and all the links were old. I couldn't find one that still worked. Thanks a bunch!

At one point I pondered putting 2 blacklights in my car, one under each seat...that, if anyhting, would look best IMO...

I had some black light neons in my old car they were fun but not being able to mount them on the roof without showing them was a bummer I wanted the lights hidden

and yea those lights in the pic are blacklight neons you can get those at pepboys autozone etc.

Thanks guys for all of your help...I'm pretty sure those are mounted on the inside of the roof and maybe some under the seats.

I hate to admit it..but I kind of always liked the idea of interior Neons. They for sure could not be exposed in anyway, nor would they be like thumping to music, I would just like them as auxillary cabin lights. For my car I wanted all the interior lights red, so I used red brake tape, and just popped off the out lenses of my interior lights, and covered them with the tape. It looks really great at night when you get in.

- neon liscence plate frame under each seat
- neon bars under dash (out of site) to illuminate floor
- hyper-LED's in HVAC passages (not directly visible through grills... but glowing)

more ideas:

- remove sail-panel lenses & halogen bulb... then cut hole to 12" long (vertically), place neon tube in hole, cover with foggy/white light fixture plastic (similar to homemade turn signals).

- neon tubes in console compartment... can glow up to the ceiling when opened... unseen by passengers. (ala Pump Fiction briefcase)

need more ideas? ... think "Engine Bay".

You guys can check out this OLD pic of my neons under the seat of my 95 Honda Passport. This was done using a 9" Streetglow tube under each seat. They came as a pair or two neons for about $65 at the time I bought them, and I wired them to a hidden switch. I sewed them on to the bottom of the seats using a simple needle and thread. They didn't fall off for the two years they were on. I recommend "installing" them like I did because when I decided to remove the neons, they just came right off by cutting the thread. If you wanted to make the neons come on when you opened the door, it would be extremely easy I suppose, to tap into the switch. Good luck, and feel free to ask me Q's if needed.

Do you have any pics of your interior at night? I've been thinking of doing red dash lighting in my interior for a while and would really like to see this.

I'm not crazy about the "neon" colored interior lights, but I do think the following 2 pics are a much better idea than lighting up the entire inside of the car..... I would do the following mods but with a regulare super-white light:

I was thinking I could live with it until I saw some of the pics

I guess it would take the right color with the right car

I think neon interior lights look cool. I drive a silver 02 firehawk and I bought purple under-car neons last boxing week. Yes they've sat for a year in the box. I'm waiting to get my SLP sfc's installed first. I hope I can install them with sfc's? The pics blacksix posted are a little too dark. Ceiling ones are too bright. The ones Tair posted look awesome to me. I think purple interior and exterior neons will look great on my car. Call me rice or one of those 2Fast 2Furious wannabe's if you like, doesn't bother me. I like to be differant. "Hey, where'd you get those cars, in the bottem of a cereal box?" Famous line from the movie. Tair, yours looked the best. I'm gonna do it.

Both are very nice...but I agree with the street glo tubes. They seem to eluminate everything brighter. I don't really care what anyone says when it comes to appearance because evreyone has there own taste and style. I do value others opinions too...just like everyone else (I think?)

What about using neons in the back? Maybe using those street glos the same exact way for the back, only point them towards the back. Steve in seattle...good ideas!

I also know now that I'm not too found of red which was what I wanted to do...maybe the street glo red would be better...trial and error time!

With those ones in the first pic, I dont think there is anyway you could do it w/o the actual tube showing, which looks tacky IMO.
