The guy that painted the car for me did cut it. I think I like it with it opened up more than the way it came.

Ok so I ordered the hood it should arrive next week

I am tossing around some ideas for a custom paint though for the hood I was wondering what your opinions were. My car is white and otherwise pretty plain looking. I'm wanting to make the hood stand out a bit more with a custom paint job.

The idea I had was to paint the hood white and to have a single black stripe come down the cowl part up until the front bumper like this:

Except my bumper will not also have the stripe so I'm not sure about how this will look. I may eventually get the bumper re-painted too though so I could match it then, but still not sure if this would look good for now.
*edit I did a quicl touch up on that last photo, it actually doesn't look as bad as I thought:

The second choice would be to paint only the cowl black, kind of like this:

But again I'm not sure on how this will look because the cowl part doesn't have clear borders that are well defined, so it may look stupid painted this way. I don't think it will look good.

Third choice is to paint the middle section of the hood black (including the cowl), and the rest of the hood white like this:

Personally I think this looks the best. I'm kinda leaning towards this option.

Unless you guys have better ideas or can just convince me to paint it all white and be done with it LOL

Let me know what you think.

I was toying with painting just the sides of the Cowl, but I think painting the entire cowl also looks good

I don't think it would look good though because like I said the cowl doesn't have clear borders...

I think I will end up painting the hood white but with the center flat black...
It looks good on this mustang

I've had the Harwood 2.5" on my car since December. Absolutely no complaints, they even included new bolts for my factory hardware. Even my painter said it was an easy job.

I plan on painting a Satin Black down the road to match my rear panel.

Yeah I have a flat black berger panel so I was wanting to keep the flat black & white theme. It still looks nice painted silver btw.

Ok so I got to see the hood today... It arrived at the depot, but I couldn't take it home because the box was HUGE But I got to handling it it felt a bit flimsy and fragile and it doesn't weigh anything at all.. I was expecting it to be a bit more sturdy I guess but I guess it' good for weight savings.

Also I decided on the style that I wanted... I think if I go with the flat black on white theme, then if I paint the middle of the hood black but extend it further onto the sides it will look good, like this:

I don't know what do you guys think?

Otherwise I will paint it all white.

The other style is just too 'Corvette Grand Sport wannabe' for me.

I'm not sure I like the oversized paint area

My Car w/single color

But it is your car so go with what you like, either way I'm sure it looks better than the stock hood

Alright so I got the hood home thanks to a friend who loaned me his van to pick up the hood but now I need to get it to the body shop... I was thinking of just installing it in my garage and driving to the body shop that way. How hard is it to remove stock hood and install this new one? It just has to be temporary until I get to the body shop which is not too far away...
