Installing Replica SS Spoiler

Hi,

I'm one of the rare german camaro enthusiast. GM never advertised the Camaro in Germany, so very few Germans even know how a Camaro looks.

First of all I'd like to apologize for my bad English.

I just bought a replica SS Spoiler.
Now I'm wondering how to install it, because the included screws don't come with screw nuts:

I'm wondering if I should screw it directly into the wholes in the spoiler without any nuts?

The spoiler is from thespoilercompany which sells it at ebay.

Every help is very appreciated.

Greetings from Germany,
Kai

I'm also wondering what those long plastics things in the back of the picture are for.

Thanks,
Kai

Wow a german member! Welcome. I wish I could help you with the spoiler, but this is something I had the bodyshop paint and install on my '95. I'm sure someone around here will be able to help out.

Re: Installing Replica SS Spoiler

With my spoilerdepot.com SS replica spoiler, I think they are practically the same spoilers, the screws they provided didnt work. Some of them weren't long enough. So i went to a hardware store and spent a few bucks to get the correct screws, locking washers, and washers. But yes, on my spoiler, you just screw the screws directly into the spoiler, its not like the stock spoiler with the nuts and bolts.

They should have included some instructions, if not i would talk to them to make sure your doing it right. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately they didn't include any instructions. I'm going to ask them, but you know how reliable sales people are

So I thought I would better ask some people who had already installed one.

Thanks,
Kai

Wow, I really like those wheels. Are those just C5 wheels?

Yes, those are the C5 rims. But I have other rear tires. I got 275/35 instead of 275/40 in other to have the same wheel size on the front und back.

And the rims look bigger with this tires.

Thumbs up Re: Installing Replica SS Spoiler

That's awesome! A German Z28. Check out the reflectors on the bumper.

Hell, I'd sport those if I had to in order to get on the Autobahn.

Nice work clearing that damn side marker light. Much better. Over here, that's where our Z28 badges go.

So how fast have you had it up to?

Guten Tag Kai! Ich spreche nur ein bisschen Deutsch aber Ich möchte mehr erlernen. I'm not sure if the sentence is constructed right, it's been a few years since I've written or spoken German. Anyways, I thought I'd say hello and that you've got a good looking Camaro over in Deutschland! You didn't spend any semesters in America going to high school did you? I knew a Kai from around the Heidelburg area. Sorry I can't help you with your spoiler troubles, just thought I'd say hello! Auf Wiedersehen!

Re: Installing Replica SS Spoiler

Unfortunately our plates are way bigger than yours
And our plates have to follow the pattern
"city letter"-"random letters" "random numbers" like "HD-CC 5700"

So there is almost no way to write something meaningful on the plate.

And I'm very proud of my "CC" for Chevrolet Camaro and "5700" for 5,7l

And the taillights don't have rear fog lamps, which are mandatory in europe. So they placed the rear fog lamps in the european bumpers.

And if you ever wonderd why the camaro taillights after 98 have amber turn signals, we europeans are the reason

They started to sell the Camaro 1998 in Europe and red turn signals are forbidden in europe. So they used amber turn signals after 98

Kai

Awesome! I was hoping that I wasn't totally slaughtering it since it's been so long. I spent three years in Frankfurt am Main growing up and picked up a little German and then took two years in High School. When I get my Masters in History I'm going to have my fluent language be German since I plan on studying European history. I still miss Germany every day, I am going to try and take another trip over there to visit some friends in Köln.
