I just ripped mine off yesterday......you have to pull (actually you just jerk the hell out of it). You'll probably break a couple of the top plastic bolt things....mine had some sort of metal retaining clips on the backs, but who cares, I'm glad to be rid of that slab of plastic. I cleaned and polished everything up, and inserted some aluminum mesh in the two "nostrils" (cut the pieces with metal snips after I drew a template for them). I think it looks a helluva lot better w/out the grille, and my aluminum mesh cost a whopping $1.27. The billet grille will look good too.

Good luck!

Do you have pics of what it looks like now?

To the original poster: Are you putting a new grille in or are you just leaving it like it is?

Did you fill in the holes where the grille was mounted? I don't see any holes there...

Yeah. I used some bumper filler, and then repainted it. I think it cleans it up, filling the holes. It didn't help that when I pulled the grill, the paint round the holes was flaking and chipped, so I had to do something.

Damn. How'd you match your paint and where'd you get bumper filler from? I want to take my grille off but am afraid the same thing will happen.

The paint was spary can paint from Auto-zone. It's easy to match black up. The filler came from there too. I have since filled the whole CAMARO lettering and put the billet grill on.
Part of my problem with the cracking was I had the front bumper replaced from an accident and the body shop did a bad job at painting it. The paint was flakying off the underside also.

Hmmm...I wonder how easy it would be to match the red...

But thanks for the info.

Sherwin williams or a regular paint place should be able to match it with little or no problem.
