Before you ask, I will not change anything. Original emblems will remain and so will everything else.

If people ask, I'll say it's an SS with 35th stripes.

What do you guys think? I'd like some feedback from some fellow LS1 owners.

 

I think they look really good. There is a guy in my Camaro club that has a black Z28 with white (or silver, can't remember) 35th stripes on his car and it looks awesome. Good choice!

 

I'd go for the 35th Anniv. SS Wheels too if you can find a set. Those stripes are nice and it tops out the package! I'd like to get a set wheels for my plain ole '96 Z/28 but I'm not sure how they'd look on a black car.

 

I had 35th ann stripes on my 96SS.

There are some people on this site who wouldn't even put a SS rear wing on a Z28 because they wouldn't want to be called on it..........

Heh. If I had a Z28, i'd gladly put the SS hood and SS wing on it. The reason why I spent the extra $$$ on a SS is because you can't tell the difference between a Z and a V6 when glancing at it -- You have to look around to the badges or exhaust. I'd leave the Z28 emblems on though.

you know, i see alot of camaro owners dig on other camaro owners if they make their z into an ss or even thiink about it. who cares if you made your car into an ss or if slp made your car into an ss, it's the same thing i mean it's not like you're making your car into something it's not. now this would be a different story if someone tried to make an rs into an ss because they came with two totally different powerplants thus making them in a sense a different car. so in my opinion i would go for an ss hood, spoiler, rims, and the stripes. but if i were you i'd probably get different colored stripes then what you could get them with from the factory because there is bound to be someone that will say "your car isn't an 02, why'd you put the 35th an. stripes on it" and if you have different colored stripes then what they came with and that person dos't realize it then you can point that out to them and have the last laugh. just my .02

 

I knew it. That's exactly where I am getting mine front. I had 35th Stripes on my 97' Camaro and it looked sweet.

How did you get the front bumper stripes to curve in like that?

 

I like the silver on red look of the 35th. If people ask why I did it. I'll just say it's because I like the way they look.

 

I myself do not like the 35th stripes all that much on a red car. I would go with solid black stripes for a bolder look or i would go with no stripes at all. I think that putting 2 tone stripes on a car doesn't look right. Black,whte and red is too much, it looks like a kids toy, that's just my opinon. They definitly get attention though. but i think the car just looks much better and cleaner with solid stripes. I've never liked flames on a car either for the same reasons. just trying to give you a different perspective.

 

I figure as long as you aren't trying to defraud someone by selling them a Z/28 turned SS clone as a TRUE SS car I don't see why anyone would care what you do to your own car. Hell my Z is a real SS-Wannabe Combo pack with all GM SS parts. '02 SS wheels tires, '99 SS rear spoiler and a '97 SS hood and air box all on a '96 Z..... and to top it off I have '69 vintage Z/28 emblems to really top off the package. I probably could put on the 35th Anniv stripes and badges on my car too but that might really be pushing it!!! ha ha I think i'll stop now

My car is a real SS though. I'm just adding the stripes.
