identifying different SS hood types
how can you tell which is which? here is a pic of mine...just need to get it painted.

and is it fiberglass or composite? looks like fiberglass underneath a layer of white stuff.

with the cracking that is going to pita to fix. you are going to have to cut that corner off the hood and make it. If you dont the cracks will come back the first time you close the hood. I would take it to a shop that knows whats going on.

This appears to be a "Standard" aftermarket fiberglass hood and should be fairly easy to repair. You should not need to cut anything off. Get a book on fiberglass repair and go do it. The white stuff is either Gelcoat or, more likely, body filler used to improve the look of the under side. Most auto parts stores will have both the book and the fiberglass repair kit.
