Lightbulb An idea for the 93-97 camaro headlight area.

Ok, I've been thinking about this for awhile. I think it'll look pretty cool:

Option 1: Paint the entire headlight area the color of the body as well as the fog light area and add clear headlight covers.

Option 2: Paint only the sides of the headlight area the color of the body and leave the interior section black. Add clear headlight covers. Oh and have the fog light area painted the color of the body again.

ANY pics relating to any of these ideas would be greatly appreciated.

And btw, how are clear headlights covers installed? Do they stick on or what? Are they secure? is it a water/air tight seal?

the clearcovers just pop in and are held in place by screws, there are not air or water tight.

Are they easy to steal? If so, then are there any alternatives to the install so that they aren't?

I don't much care for painting the front the same color. I personally like the contrasting done by the black fog light and headlight areas. However, my buddy doesn't like it so he painted his car all the same color. It doesn't look BAD but I don't like it as much as if it were black.

He has headlight covers so the example isn't all that great but gives you an idea.

Oh yeah... forgot I had one on my Appearance Page

I just think it looks better with the black contrasts.

I actually think white looks good with everything painted white. The red though, not so much.

Here's something to think about though, if the black is getting on your nerves. When I had my front end and hood painted, I had them do the headlight and foglight area in gloss black instead of that matte/flat/bumper black that they come from the factory with. IMHO, that makes the car look 100% better.

Just another way to go. As long as it's done well it will look good, it's more of a personal preference thing. One thing I think it does is bridge the gap between the 3rd and 4th gens a little bit. To me, when you paint all of that the same as the body, it's starts looking like a 3rd gen somewhat. <ziiiiiiiiiiiiiiip> Flame suit on...

Looks way better than stock.

The best part is the clear covers.

Whiteheartbeat, after seeing your car, I think it's best just like that. Very nice!

I completely agree with you. I've come across others with the same treatment done to it and it does look completely better. Now I need that done, the sides painted red, and clear headlight covers and I'll be satisfied (with that section of my car at least). haha

I had my car repainted 97Z and painted the whole front white to include the roof bar (non t top) and the rk sport air deflector and I love it all but the front, I agree a better look has the black, I do have the billet grille and also headlight covers painted as well. When the covers are on it rocks, with out I wish I had the black.
