I would like to learn to paint. NE suggustions

It's always been one of the things I would like to do, since it would be much cheaper for me when I get good at it. How did you guys learn to paint. Mind you that I'm a bartender and do not work in a shop or anything. That would be way too convenient.

Are there places that offer instruction, or is this one of those things that I have to practice in my spare time?

thanx

The only way to learn is go work at a shop. Those classes are a joke. I have never taken one but one of my employees went and stayed for a week before he asked for his money back. You could take a class to get the basics down, then go to a shop and become a master, but if you walk in a shop after taking a paint and body class, they will treat you like a beginner.
