i want to put lamborghini style doors on my z28

i did a search on this subject for the past 5 hours and came up with nothing. i've decided to look into this mod because as you all know, our doors are like giant wings. you pull up into a crowded parking lot and because 1 dingdong didn't park his car right, it throws the rest of the cars in the parking lot off. on top of that, some parking lots just have small or too many compact stalls. solution? lambo style doors. i know they sell kits for imports and stuff, i was wondering if they make them for our f-bodys. i want to do this mod myself, i have no idea what a body shop would charge. anyone know where i can get a kit, or where to start looking? also, do you guys think this is a bad or good idea? thanks!

This is discussed in this forum all the time. Search for "Lambo" not the full name. You should find about 38 threads in this forum alone and over a hundred board wide. Sometimes searching is an art.

This is been one of the biggest topics on these boards for a while, I'm surprised you have'nt been involved. Anyways do a search and you'll come up with something. Go to decah.com to see a 4th gen camaro with the door kit (He stole my sponsorship!!). Yes it can be done and it has by a few camaro owners. It's $1500 for the kit (no matter where you buy it) and the install is about a couple of hours for both doors. I'm getting mine soon.

I couldn't find the camaro pic either. The doors don't seem like they swing far enough forward.

you and everyone else

it's been done at least a few times now to camaros, never seen any birds done. It's expensive as well

as far as decah goes I think they're using one design to fit all cars, hence different cars doors raise to a different height

I think it's a neat concept, and it really would help with getting out of the car and not hitting something. I hit the door on the wall in the garage almost everytime I get out.

Those decah kits look pretty cool, but the doors look like the swing out almost as much as they swing up.

That is because they are a "butterfly" kit as opposed to a true vertical (lambo) like the overseas Camaro on CarDomain.
