I polished my SLP CAI tube...

I got sick of the scratched and dull SLP CAI tube so I decided to polish it. I used a couple different grits of sandpaper, a buffer kit from sears, and a ton of elbow grease. I think it turned out great and looks just as good as GMPP version.

Here are the pics

Ain't nuthin wrong with that!

Seriously, that looks really good! I have a Moroso CAI that's made of plastic, so I can't polish . Oh well, I guess I could paint it if I wanted to

Looks great! I'd like to see a pic of it installed, if you have one.

I think you did a really nice job! I tried that a year and a half ago with my SLP cold-air kit. I bought it used for $60 from some guy and the finish was horrible on it. Anyways, I had it sandblasted for $5 and tried polishing it but it was taking forever and I'm an unpatient man! I ended up getting it powdercoated along with my intake manifold. You did a real bang-up job though! Looks great!

Hey thanks guys. It did take a while, I wanna say I have about 8 hrs in it total after the powdercoating came off. I had all day with it being 8* out here in Buffalo so I didnt mind. I dont have any pics of it installed yet since the car has been basically gutted for the 383 build up and A4-M6 swap. This spring I will throw some up though.
