Looks pretty cool. I wouldn't use it though, it would be to hot in the summer and to cold in the winter. I had a steel shift **** at one time, it sucked...

Re: I made a shift ****....have a look.

nah I wasnt being sarcastic when I said that. I wish my school had a lathe. We dont have an auto shop, any classes involving any tools of any sort, and not even an auto club. About it being hot in the summer and cold it the winter wll ya...I live in South Bend so we have extremes on both ends sometimes. In the summer I will just keep a rag near it that I can throw over the top and I probably wont be driving it in the winter because I wouldnt trust myself and I dont know if I couldnt handle getting into an accident in it, plus salty roads/slush + Camaro = no good.

DUDE! That thing looks heavy!! LOL we need to shave weight not gain it. Looks good, I applaud the effort and manufacturing of your own customized part!!

Keep the vision and apply it to other areas of the car.

It is heavy but thats why I made it. TWM sells weighted shift **** that supposedly help shifts and thought it would be interesting to try. What do you think a heavy shift **** will feel like? I will finish tapping it today but it feels much better that the circle black ball I was using before.

Lol yeah I used to use a rag also during the summer. But in the winter in Texas we don't get snow but maybe one day a year, if even that.

Re: I made a shift ****....have a look.

I was trying to decide whether to use steel or something like aluminum. Do you think they would get equally hot or would a lighter metal heat up quicker and hotter? Now I just have to figure why my tranny is acting up when Im about to turn the car off, when I slow down when its been running. When Im trying to park or Im going through a drive through it doesnt want to shift, especially into reverse unless I go from 5th to reverse then its fine.
