HRE 547s or Budnik Cobalts?
I'm thinking about getting a set of 18 inch HRE 547s http://www.hrewheels.com/Car/540Series/big547.htm
or Budnik Cobalts
http://www.budnik.com/roadwheeldetai...3&pid=517&pg=1 ....what do you guys suggest?

hey whats up man, i personally like the HRE 547's better, even though the budniks do look awesome. i have HRE 545's on my car and love them. awesome quality too! its kind of up in the air but i would choose the 547's. i think they are a unique wheel.

I would go with the Budnik if u are sticking with 18"
If you were gonna go larger than 18" i would go with the HRE's

hey,
if you do decide to go with the budniks, go with the "fat lip" design (they can make the cobalt in the fat lip) your 18's will look like 19's
call and talk to christian (at budnik) but if you buy a set, get them from dealers sport truck (talk to chad at dealers), believe it or not you can get a better price at dealers sport truck.
i just talked to christian on monday and he even told me my 20x10's through budnik are $723.00 each, but if i get them through dealers sport truck they are $615.00 each...

They are basically the same thing. It comes down to whether you like the cleaner look of the Budnik or if you like all those little dots around the edge of the HRE.
Personally I think either would look good.

After reading the responses and playing with Photo Shop I'm starting to lean towards the Budniks, also the price plays a HUGE role. Will Budnik make the rims with a special offset and clear coat them? I plan on running these wheels because the Porsche brake set up won't fit my current wheels http://www.socal-fbodies.org/members/bvu.html

yes budnik will make'em with about any offset you need, but i don't think they can clear coat them.
check out my pics of my 95 Z28 in my sig. they are 17x9.5 with 7.25 inches of backspacing.
have you looked at the Budnik pentacle in the fat lip design? i think that is pretty sweet to.
i will stay with the Trilogy III design, i get tons of people asking me "what kind of wheels are them"!

chuckys95: Are the wheels hard to keep up without the clear coat? I dont want to be spending countless hours polishing my wheels only to have them tarnish in a week. As for the penticle wheel...its not exactly my cup of tea...I happen to lean towards a simple 5 spoke design. I need to call up Budnik to see if they will accomdate my needs. I'd like to keep the 275s if not larger size up front and retain the 315s in rear.

i polish mine once or twice every summer, i park it in the winter.
if you have any questions you can email me at: trilogyz28@hotmail.com
i think i am gonna sell mine very soon, so i can order my 19/20 combo, so if you know anybody looking for some nice wheels, i'll probably be looking to get $1700.00 + shipping with new yokahama A520's $1700.00 is just what the wheels alone cost me..
take care!

The HREs are $1200 a piece without the clear coating, high polish, or special domed/etched center caps. The Budniks are $573 a piece uncoated. The only difference that I can tell between the is that the HREs are 3 piece and the Budniks are single piece.
