How to Safely Remove Factory Decals & Emblems

So for a long while my front nose bird had been cracking and peeling and everything, so this afternoon I took it off..and wow the nose looks 10 times better without that little bird. So it of course inspired me to do what many members have already done to take off all my stock emblems and decals as well as my aftermarket ones. To remove the emblems thats easy enough...even though I would like to know a way to take off that adhesive residue better. But how can I take off the factory decals such as the "ram air" ones and the Trans Am & Bird in the center tail light section. It is extremely important that my paint remain intact after this procedure. Anyone have any tips!

Thanks
Nathan

A hair dryer should work on the decals just heat them up to loosen the adhesive then be careful and pull them off with your finger nail. As far as the Rear filler panel I dunno mine faded with time and with a few washes. When I did my Decals on that panel (Thank you Brent) I used rubbing alcohol to take off the remainder that had not faded that seemed to work really well.IMO it didn't look right with nothing on that panel but that my .02.

Heat Gun. It will work faster than a hair dryer, but you need to take your time and be careful, or else this safe way to remove emblems becomes unsafe real quick.

Thanks for the replies, What does everyone think about Mineral Spirits or 3M adhesive removers. Is this safe on paint!?

Thanks
