Talking How to remove pinstriping?

HI there!

I have a black car with two gold pinstripes running down the sides of the car.
They have been there for probably 4 years now.

How do I get them off without hurting anything?
Think it faded?

What to do? Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,

Jay

Re: How to remove pinstriping?

I'm assumeing the vinel kind(stuck on).Just try to peal them off w/ your finger nail. If it is brittle or just too diff, get a blowdryer. DONT heat if too much, you WILL get the paint too soft and mess it up! To get the glue off, just use some solvant to remove it(glue remover). Now if the paint is faded under the pinstripe, you my have to high-speed buff the area. Hope that helps!

Try an eraser wheel. You can pick one up at an auto paint supplier. You can chuck it up in a cordless drill and it works great .My have to use adhesive remover/but every time I have used one I didnt have to,it took that as well.
