a basic ballpark figure would be helpful. I want to get it painted to match the rest of the car....medium quasar blue w/ white painted on 30th stripes. I'm not sure why gm made the roof black, but imo it kinda looks outta place since i dont have t-tops. Thanks for any help.

BTW. The stripes for the rest of the car were painted on by the guy i bought the car off of. (he owns a shop)

Oh, and also how much do you think it would cost to get an ss hood painted in the exact same style as it is now.

PICS are in SIG!!!!

I had my top painted a solid color to match and it was $200. I think that was reasonable.

It looks like the guy that owned you car left it that way. I could have sworn that if the top was black, all the top was black, not just the part where the t-tops would be. The part that you have the stripes on the top now should also be black. Maybe the guy painted it and then wanted to look like he has t-tops?

Anywho, it shouldn't be more than a couple hundred to get that painted, although with stripes it may be a little more. Just make sure you get a good shop to do it with good paints and clear. That part of the car will be exposed to everything, so that will be the most critical part, quality paint and prep. Otherwise it will fade with time and flake as you drive.

The ss hood, if you already have the hood, probably $300-400, but maybe as high as $500 with the stripes, that one varies a bit. If you don't have the hood, look at around a grand, for the hood and paint. Good luck. If you get it done, you gotta post some pics, I'm liking the way your cars looking.

well i would love to do a t-top conversion...trust me. But im not very good with cutting and i have no access to the proper tools to do it, and its not something i would feel comfortable doing on my own at all. So that leaves me with taking it to a shop and who knows how much they would want for the labor.

BTW: almost everyone new i meet asks if my car is t-tops, when i say no.....there kinda like awww.....or say too bad.
