I have been getting about 13-25 pms a week asking me how to do bodywork. I am guessing that these have genreated from my thread about my camaro. Well i was bored today and started a writeup on bodywork of every type. If there is enough intrest i may finish it and add lots of pictures. I have the first 2 sections done and they involve Bondo work as well as fiberglassing. the next few sections will include dent removal in metal panels using body hamers and anvils and shaving things like door handels and antennas, moldings, ect. Im including sections on molding in corvette tails in a 4th gen and building a custom speaker inclosures and fiberglassing interrior panels and the dash for that smother painted look. let me know what you think

I see you live in Ladson, I live in north charleston behind the Super K-mart. My cars actually at the show zone being painted right now. Its cool to see someone on here that lives so close.

 

It'd be cool if you rated the things you write about as for how difficult they are to do. You know, like "9/10" would be really difficult and only really good people should do it.

Yeah oneslowz28 I would def post up your work. It can be used by many, and will definitely give others ideas if they wanna attempt what you have. Many people read the stuff and never say anything, so you'd be helping out more than you'd ever think.

I wouldn't mind seeing some writeups, maybe even a sticky. I probably wouldn't trust myself to attempt half of the things on my car, but at least I'll learn a thing or two.

im finished with the bondo and fiberglassing to repair damaged panels section all i have to do is take pics. so look for part 1 in the next few days

looks like this thing is going to be huge i already have about 4 pages worth in # 10 font size. if anyof you have saomething in particular you would like to know please post it here and i will do my best to add it to the write up

 

Can you write something about getting door dings out of the rear (steel) quarter panels and the rear bumper (plastic/fiberglass)? That is, if you know a method of getting them out without repainting or drilling.

 

I'm terrible w/ body work, so yeah!....

 

i can show you how to repair the metal panels. but the only way i know how to fix the plastic bumpers and fenders is to replace them unless you would like to chance using fiberglass resin and it cracking later.

 

when this tutorial is finished you could be a professional if you follow my instructions lol.
