How to fix rust under gas door

How to fix rust under gas door

What would be the best and most econimal way to fix this? Think the whole car is gonna need to be repainted to blend it? It's not all the way through and i'd LOVE to get her fixed. anybody have to go through this

Is it just surface rust or deep rust? If it's just surface rust, it could probably just be sanded down to metal and repainted. At most, they'd repaint the quarter panel.

it's not just rust, right? it looks like there is also a huge dent. without a better pic I would say your best bet is to cut it out and make a patch panel from a junkyard car. it seems way too bad for just bondo..

Agree cut it out and weld in a new panel. It's the only way, and not as hard as you might think.

how do you even remove the current?! I found a guy with a good panel but doesnt know how to get the old off.. should i just go there and see if i cna get air chizzle or somethin and cut the piece i need?

yes, I would just go and cut the portion that you need. The whole panel is welded into the unibody. When I took my car to the dump it was a completely bare shell with only the rear quarter panels left.
