How to align hood?
How to align hood?
Hi,
I recently got an SS hood from a board member off his car for my '98 camaro and we didn't have a clue how to align newer style hoods. I have aligned all my older cars in the past, chevelles, first gens camaros, tri 5 chevys etc. But the hoods seem to work a lot different.
Well if anyone knows please post some advice,
Thank you

Re: How to align hood?
I know of a few people who have tried to align 4th gen hoods and after hours of work and it looking terrible, they start thinking about sending the hood back. BUT, it seems that when they finally break down and take it to a body shop the hood comes out looking better than factory. Just a heads up that it might be better to just take it to a good body shop and see if they'll do it for you for a reasonable fee because evidently it is a bit "tricky"
Re: How to align hood?
Yeah it seems like there are no good adjustments built in like on older cars, where you have the abilty to tweak it front and back and side to side. I probarly will end up going to a body shop, but I think I will stand there and watch them and find out what the trick is to these things.
