hooker catback tips, anyone had theirs rust?

i just got my hooker catback about a week ago. will the tips start to rust? its not stainless as far as i know, but on the outside they are chrome plated. has anyone had their hooker tips rust?

how would one prevent the tips from rusting if this in fact a problem?

One of my friends had a hooker aerochamber cat back, and he had his tips rust after about a year and a half. A good coat of wax frequently or grease will keep the tips in nice shape. However, the grease looks sloppy in apperance. On my car i grease the inside of the oval tips to keep them clean.

I had the Hooker catback on my 99 for nearly 3 years before seeing any signs of rust. I ended up with small (<dime size) rust spots on the bottom of the tips at the welding marks. No big deal to me, but when I installed the new Hooker on the 02, I made sure I clearcoated them to help prevent it...
good luck!
