Not sure about the LS1's but I don't really like the look of hood pins on LT1's. By the time you mount them in the radiator support they look too far back from the front of the hood. Wish I had some pictures to share with you-
Price wise you could probably easily put them in yourself...

$10 to $30 bucks. Easy to install yourself. The only problem I have with them is that most of them recommend the radiator support for mounting. I think this looks to far back.
On my 84, as they are actually functional, I built a couple of brackets out of small aluminum rectangular stock. I bolted these between the front facia and the rad. support.
