Hood Pins..

Not much of an appearance question, but my hood shakes like crazy at anywhere over 100... I get nervous about it comming up on me... The bumpers are adjusted in the front, but the back bounces.

Anyone mount hood pins on an LS1? I have a fiberglass SS hood too.

Pics? Links?

If your hood is vibrating at 100+ MPH I doubt hood pins will help. Check everything that connects the hood to the rest of your car. Check the back shocks, and the nuts and bolts holding them into your car and hood. Make sure everything is secure, and doesn't wobble when you try to shake it. Next check to see where the hood latches at the front. Make sure that both parts are secure to both the hood and car.

If the hood is on correctly, it shouldn't be vibrating on you. Mine has stayed secure without budging at countless 150+ MPH runs. The only thing I notice at those speeds is my whether stripping peeling a little bit back, but once I go back to highway speeds everything goes back to normal.

I've done a handfull of 150 runs since I go the hood. I suppose I just never noticed it. But now that I see it, it makes me nervous.

I can't say I blame you. Something is prbably wrong with the hood. Probably not fully latching down, or not having something secure on it. Inspect it over closely.

The front latches securely, but the back bounces. I took the hydraulic cylinders off cause I'm doing some detailing work on them.
