Lightbulb Hood Pins

I have the FFI Hood problem where as the corners of the hood at the headlights are higher than the fenders. Was wondering if anyone ever put hood pins in the corners to force the hood down to where it should be. Not only do I think it *Should* work, I think it would look pretty cool as well. Anyone??

Thumbs down

I would not sugest putting hood pins on to correct a fitting defect. The tension this would put on the pins might make them VERY difficult to remove. Furthermore, the hood is likely to bow as something has to give if you force a proper alignment. The hood should be adjusted to fit properly; a good body shop should be able to help. Hood pins are a personal preference as reflected in discussions on this board. I have them on my '94 z28 and really like them. But they do not function to correct a misfitting hood. Do a search and you should find pics I had previously posted. Hope this helps!

I have seen a car on this board that has hood pins for the same reason you describe, so apparently it will work, however I don't particularly like hood pins on 4th gens. They just don't look right IMO.
